How Naadya came to life

Atharva
Founder - Naadya
I’m Atharva, founder of Naadya, and this whole thing started with a moment I wasn’t looking for. I was driving home from Carnatic class on an ordinary evening, no different from a hundred others. The raga I’d just spent an hour singing was still looping in my head, not the lyrics, just the shape of it, the way it moved. And somewhere in that drive, something shifted. My shoulders dropped. My mind went quiet in a way it almost never does. I wasn’t trying to feel better. I just did.
That moment bothered me, in a good way. I’d been singing ragas my whole life, but I’d never actually stopped to ask why they did this to me. So I went home and started digging, not casually, but the way you research something you suddenly need an answer to.
What I found wasn’t vague spirituality or wellness culture hand-waving. It was real: specific ragas tied to specific emotional and physiological effects, some of it studied, some of it centuries of tradition getting quietly validated by modern science. That’s when it stopped being a personal realization and became a problem I couldn’t ignore.
This tradition, the one I grew up inside of, that runs through my family, my culture, my identity, was sitting on something powerful, and almost nobody outside that world had access to it. Not because it was gatekept on purpose. Just because no one had built the bridge yet.
“Naadya isn’t a wellness app with Indian music sprinkled on top. It’s the reverse: a tradition that already knew how to heal, finally given a way out into the world that needs it.”
So I built one. Naadya isn’t a wellness app with Indian music sprinkled on top. It’s the reverse: a tradition that already knew how to heal, finally given a way out into the world that needs it. Naad (sound) + Vaidya (healer). Naadya — Your path to arogya.
